Does the agency employ a nurse, social worker, or other qualified
professional to make regular visits to the client's home?

Neighborhood Home Care employees a social worker to train and supervise our caregivers. Our social worker monitors the care of each individual and makes regular visits to the client’s home.

 

 

Is there a written plan of care for each client? Are clients and family
members involved in putting it together or reviewing it?

Our social worker develops and continually assesses the written care plan for each client. The care plan is made in conjunction with the family and is based upon the needs of both the individual and the family. Our case manager will report to the family based on the details of the care plan.

 

 

Are services available 24 hours a day, seven days a week? Do you offer respite care?

Yes, services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and include respite care. We also have a case manager available after normal business hours to handle emergencies and resolve concerns. We offer respite care for those seeking temporary care relief of their loved ones while they tend to other obligations (family vacations, business trips, etc.)

 

 

Is there a system in place for resolving client problems or complaints?

A personal case manager is assigned to each individual and is an expert in resolving complaints and problems. Further, all complaints and problems are reviewed by the management staff in a weekly meeting to establish proactive policies that will eliminate future occurrences.

 

 

What types of staff can Neighborhood Home Care provide?

We provide a staff member tailored to the specific needs of the individual. Our caregivers are certified nurses’ assistants, certified home health aides, homemakers, or nursing or social work students.

 

 

Are staff members bonded (insured against theft or loss to a home)
through the agency?

All staff members are employees of Neighborhood Home Care and covered by our fidelity bond and other comprehensive insurances. We manage all our employees and employee related matters regarding state and federal guidelines, workers’ compensation, and other benefits.

 

 

Can a different staff person be requested if I am unhappy with the
worker the agency sent?

Yes, we make every effort to match the personality of the individual with our caregiver. However, if the caregiver isn’t the right fit, we offer an unlimited guarantee on client/caregiver compatibility.

 

 

Is the agency licensed by the state?

There is no required license for home care agencies in the state of California.

 

 

What services does your agency provide?

Neighborhood Home Care provides in-home care services often referred to as custodial or companionship services. These services include light housekeeping, laundry, bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene assistance, meal preparation, etc. Please see our Services page or call us for more information.

 

 

Is your agency certified to be paid by Medicare?

Unfortunately non-medical in-home services are not covered by Medicare. However, long-term care insurance policies may cover such services

 

 

How much does the service cost?

Each client is different and requires a service tailored to their needs. The exact cost is determined after a consultation with our representative. Our rates are affordable and provide an amazing value when comparing market costs and quality of service.

 

 

How does the agency bill for costs?

The agency bills based on the service hours provided to the individual. We invoice our customers on a monthly basis. All payments are expected to be received within 10 days. Credit card payments are accepted.

 

 

Does the agency have references or satisfaction reports for
itself and staff?

Yes, references are available upon request.
